Run

Made some progress today on finishing up the run for the chicken coop. I’m convinced that I would rather rip a fingernail off than deal with wire. I feel like a pincushion.

Funny that you say that. It got me to thinking about how much things have changed over the years in how we do things but working with wire is basically the same it was a hundred years ago.

I’ve been shredded with chicken wire!

On another note, I believe that I’ll change the name of the blog to updates for Ed. We seem to have a degree of exclusivity going here.

5 cones! Looks like you get a production line going at chicken harvest time. I have to mention that the barn looks fantastic too. A real work of art. I also can’t help but mention that I recently published my homesteading book! Very excited as you can imagine. If you have a chance, please drop by my blog to help me celebrate. 🙂

Thanks Leigh! Having the cones and plucker make a world of difference in our time spent butchering. Amazing how a few of the right tools can take an all day affair and turn it into an afternoon chore.

We have had such a good time in building the barn. Never would I have dreamed that I would have such a structure or have a hands on experience of building it.

I was checking the book and re-vamped blog out yesterday. How exciting to actually publish!
