Southwest Corner

I finished blocking both gable ends and started on the siding run over the loft. It’s going to be a slow go getting this run lined up and nailed down. Way too many trips up and down the ladder for my liking. I set the window for the bathroom and picked up the old woodstove that my mom and dad gifted us with. It’s a heavy old Timberline with fire brick lining. Much larger than I remembered it being.

Still no trench for our electric service. Two calls to the office and not a call back yet. These people have been very good in the past. Hopefully I won’t have to line anyone else up.

Going up and down ladders sucks… we found when we built our house that the local rental place would rent us scaffolding for some insanely cheap amount… I think it might have been $6/day or something like that.

We talked about scaffold, as well as a couple of other options, but I think we’re going to tough it out till we need to bring in the rental lift for the last two pieces of metal and the big windows. I whole heartedly agree that ladders do suck!

I’m thinking I would station someone inside to do the cutting and hand them through the wall to me. But if it were just me and only me, I guess frequent trips up the ladder it is and hopefully some killer calves when it is all over.

It’s funny you mention that Ed. We were saying the exact same thing this afternoon when we got back from getting our tree. My killer calves look stupid under the rest of this body.

You’ll have freakishly large calves and thighs from all of the ladder work…too bad it isn’t beach weather!
