Hunter Is One

We celebrated the first birthday for our grandson Hunter.

I think he really liked his first birthday cake. He wears it well!

There were two more baby turkeys this morning. I believe that makes five so far. It is hard to tell since the hens are very protective and they won’t leave the nest. We can only watch and see if they make themselves countable.

I took at least ten shots with my arm fully extended into the corner of the coops nesting box. Turkeys can really peck the crap out of you if you put yourself on their fowl side.

Ha, those cake shots are awesome. :)The Bourbon Red we had turned into a viscous old man, with a hell of a beak. I wasn't too sad when he disappeared one night. Although I did cry a little bit inside about missing out on a turkey dinner. Ron

Ron..I was going to ask you about your tom. He was a beautiful bird. We had a trio of big breasted bronze turkeys that we butchered and shared for Thanksgiving. The largest of which dressed out at 38 pounds. He was hanging out of the roaster pan! Very good eating.
