Catching up part two

The rebuilding of our front porch and replacement of the french doors is inching along. The pour is complete on the porch and the forms have been removed, but further progression of the porch will have to wait. This project is pay as we go.

The french doors in our dining area will be reused for the new front porch.

We opened up the house in between our latest flush of rain. The dogs were just a bit confused over the unfettered access. The steps also served as one of their preferred summer shelters. This area rarely gets any sun so the bricks and shade provided a nice hideout. I’m sure that there will be a new lair that will appear.

The next week I finally finished off the inside work and wrapped the window in trim and replaced the siding. I still have to paint the inside trim and touch up the outside work.

I was hoping to get a bit more of the front porch done when an unexpected expenditure reared its ugly head in the form of a dryer that decided to nearly turn into a fireball. The house filled with smoke from the element frying. So now instead of a washing machine that would occasionally walk to the center of the room and a potential fireball of a dryer we have these new appliances in residence. I’m not completely sold on these guys yet. There seems to be way too much of an attempt to make laundry a high-tech endeavor. It is very nice to have a much quieter laundry experience here though.

OMG! you have BOSCH washer and dryer…oh, you don't know how I've have lusted over these machines! ugh! BOSCH is the ultimate. Their hammer drill can't be beat in my opinion. I am SO filled with jealously.

Hold on..these things may not be all they're cracked up to be. The dryer kinda sucks! It seems to take so much longer than our old one; But the old one did damn near set the load on fire.

It's looking great! We will need to rebuild our front porch one of these days, but it isn't on our horizon yet, maybe next summer(?)Tough about those unexpected expenditures but I know you're be glad for those new appliances. Too bad things like that don't always happen on our time table. 🙂
