Fresh Turkey

The first three of a dozen eggs that both turkey hens have been setting have hatched. I first noticed them this morning. Sadly one of the poults I found dead.

Each nest has about a half dozen eggs. Hopefully most of them will hatch out.

I like the turkeys more than the chickens. They're a hell of a lot more interesting to have around. I would only advise that you look at your coop-run as if you were preparing it for a two year old child. They will find ways to hurt themselves that you would overlook. Unless you plan on clipping their wings deer netting over the top of the run would be a good idea. They will roost in the trees otherwise. peace
