Got some catching up to do…

Before the storm clouds rolled over the horizon I was able to get the grass mowed and a couple of the raised beds weeded. Two weeks away from home can be a bit overwhelming when it comes to catching up with chores. Thankfully my parents were kind enough to feed and water our future dinners while we were away.

Apparently we are still in the groove for storms this spring. Yesterday registered an inch and a half of hard rain. The rain gauge was full when I went out in the morning to get a grip on what I really needed to do first. The ground was spongy before the additional rain. The two sprinkler stands that I set up, just in case there was a need to water while we were gone, stand in mud.

This morning I hope to get the rest of the beds weeded and maybe finish a couple of the projects I have left hanging around waiting to be crossed off the “your almost done” list and add them to the “done till you see how bad a job you did on that little escapade…what were you smoking? list”

No rest for the wicked you know – it’s nice your folks kept up the pace while you gone. It’s hard to leave unless you know you have someone good looking after the stock. That’s too bad about the rain – crazy weather everywhere.

I’ve got a good start on my ark. I’m not sure if I should start collecting two of every animal now or wait until it floods enough to float my boat. This rain just doesn’t seem to want to stop!
