Mission accomplished

Katy set a goal of saving her money so she could buy her own horse. She achieved her goal on Saturday.

Our friend Charlie gave us a call about a horse that would be a good fit for Katy. Charlie knows horses, so when he pointed in the right direction we went. Stan is an eighteen year old bay thoroughbred gelding that seems a gentle and forgiving soul.

After Katy had worked the lunch rush at Friscos we went out to meet the owners and Stan. Of course it was love at first sight for Katy. She will probably be a better horse trader than her dad could be. All along in this journey we have tried to stay out of the way as much as practical. We have wanted her to realize that horse ownership is no game. That the importance of good stewardship with any animal is vital. Now we can only hope that we did a good job on her foundation.

We will have some pictures to post shortly.
